Title: Pedro’s Demon Wings

Artist: Peter Bogdanov

Before love, before family, before the life they would go on to build together—there was a friendship. And a painting.

When Donna asked Peter, then just a friend, to paint her a guardian angel, she likely imagined something serene. Wings of white, a soft glow, maybe a halo. What she got instead was this: “Pedro’s Demon Wings.”

This piece is a rebellion wrapped in reverence. It’s the guardian angel reimagined—not as a passive protector, but as a fierce, watchful force cloaked in shadows and fire. The figure’s eyes burn with intent. The wings—massive, dark, and defiant—flare like a warning to anything that dares approach. This is not the angel of lullabies. This is the angel of boundaries. Of standing your ground. Of surviving what others don't see.

Created during a time when Peter was still finding his voice as an artist and defining his bond with Donna, “Pedro’s Demon Wings” now reads like prophecy. In retrospect, it's a reflection of how he would love—fiercely, creatively, and without compromise. The painting captured something neither of them yet understood: that protection isn’t always gentle. Sometimes, it’s sharp-edged, hard-earned, and forged in the fire of lived experience.

The title itself is a playful nod—“Pedro” being Peter’s alter ego of sorts, and the “demon wings” an ironic twist on what a guardian might be. It’s the kind of protection that comes with teeth. And heart.

Today, this piece stands as a relic of beginnings. A visual time capsule from the spark before the flame.
