Bad Petrovich


The goal of the brand effort with Bad Petrovich was to address the elephant in the room. Can a brand get away with using a bad or negative word in its brand name? At the time of the company's inception in 2013, there had not been a trend toward dark humor or instigating language in brand identity. Our friends Run DMC once said, "bad" meaning good, not bad meaning bad," and we wanted to take that risk. So Bad Petrovich would be born to make some of the most badass surfboards the world has ever seen.



Our second goal with the brand logo was to use 4 of the most cliché images of logo design and create a world-class logo anyway. To be that bold. To know we were breaking rules and forcing our will in the form of our logo. The brand logo was designed to invigorate like the power of royalty wearing its crown. The mysterious eye demands attention while wings take flight. The logo offers protection shielded by a simple color palette and offers a unique blend of its basic components.



The brand is much more than its successful logo, though; it is its entire influence on the world. Bad Petrovich would set new standards for fine art and surf culture. At the same time, sales figures soared, selling more fine art surfboards than fine art paintings in its very first year in inventory. We wrapped the website, advertisements, and social media in sex appeal combined with luxury.


The website for the brand exudes a captivating and commanding presence, effectively showcasing the distinctive information of each project board with precision. Its design is not only visually striking but also functionally superior, offering a seamless user experience.



By employing a monochromatic color palette, the brand's image is upheld with a sense of strength and unity, creating a lasting impression on visitors.
